Warren G (December 2009):
Rap Race and Revolution - WOW! This is a great book to read.
APOOO Book Club Reviews (January 2010):
Supreme Understanding should feel ccomplished since dropping his
second installment, Rap, Race And Revolution. This is part two to his
very real, very informative How to Hustle and Win. Understanding
remains true to his target audience by presenting another rugged guide
packed with tips for successful living as well as stories that back up
his hypotheses, statistics, and resources to obtain more information.
There are so many gems in this guide, it is hard to pinpoint what
stands out more. But I will start with a few entries that made me
pause and think. In the small entry titled `If Einstein was Black,' he
proposed that if Einstein lived in the hood with his disabilities, he
would have been a drug addict or dead beat dad. Einstein's environment
would not have been conducive to the way he learned and he would have
been placed in special-education classes because of the system's
intolerance for alternate methods of learning. How many Einsteins do
you think we have lurking in our special-education systems throughout
the world's urban areas?
Another section that piqued my interest is titled '13 Ways to Destroy
Yourself.' In this section, he gives you exactly that. Staying angry,
sacrificing sleep, getting into the wrong line of work, and ignoring
your doctor are a few of the firsts. While reading, I began to place
myself (and a few others I know) in a few of the self-destructive
categories he listed. Certainly this information is available, but I
have never seen them listed together like they are in Rap, Race and
Revolution. And I have never seen them applied in such a way that I
see how it is ruining our Black community.
Supreme Understanding has given a gift to his people; especially the
young, Black man. The author put together a guide that helps you
assess your life via current and historical events, surveys, tips, and
much more. The layout of the book allows you to jump from section to
section without feeling disjointed and the author's passion is
apparent throughout the entire book. If you are of the Hip-Hop
culture, this book is a must have. If you have young, black men to
raise, this book is a must read and would be great for gifting. If you
are black and feel like the American dream is unreachable, read this
book (as well as How To Hustle and Win). You will not be disappointed
and you will definitely feel inspired to make changes.

I first picked up How to Hustle and Win because I was looking at how to make more money. What I found out was that his book and the second book went much deeper than the titles portrayed. I recommend these books to all young and even older men. After I read both of these books I highly recommended

them to my younger brother. Thanks Supreme Understanding.
Superb Sequel, September 21, 2009
By DMS
Continuing his method of disseminating deep truths made easy to read and immediately relevant, Supreme has followed How to Hustle and Win with something very rare: a sequel that stands shoulder to shoulder with its predecessor.
Universal concepts such as justice, equality, self-motivation, self-reliance, and altruism are defined and demonstrated with practical examples rather than empty sermonizing. It is a book that lives up to its name and offers real solutions, learned in the arena of life rather than in a classroom, for a real struggle.
It covers topics such as how to begin managing your finances, how to deal with police, and how to get a job, as well as how to embrace hope over hopelessness and how to value yourself as a human being.
If you are actively engaged in resisting and counteracting the unacceptable conditions and low morals that have been forced on so many people in this society, this is your book. If you are not yet active in that struggle, this will not only inspire you to get active, it will show you step by step how to do it.
I expected nothing less than superb for a sequel, and I got way more...., September 7, 2009

I could write a four page review but I will just give a brief overview from my perspective.
The first version is a huge wake up call I can imagine for anyone reading the info. As a matter of fact, I'm going through the first book again more slowly to make sure I really interpret the info. Whether one thinks he can benefit from this book series or not is a little out of the question, it may not affect you directly but there is a high percentage rate that the material brought out in many parts of the series also applies to someone you know; which really means you most likely will benefit. Also, if it applies to anyone reading it, they too will benefit.
There are tons of references to movies and other publications throughout the book as well, to provide proof from outside sources, and so the reader can get an even better grasp of what's really going on.
It's straight up no-nonsense knowledge, plain and simple. The author is beyond bright, and the thing about it is he is laying the steps out for anyone so that they can be brilliant also in their own way. I've been doing research hear and there and I know that it's the truth, everyone has their own potential and a lot of people don't bother to reach it; whether they don't know it's possible or they don't take it seriously. With me, I've taken it seriously but I just had not found that one link that would get me that info I was looking for.
To sum it up, quit wasting time procrastinating and learn you some "TRUE" history about yourself, and wake up your potential and help change the world. Also just to let you know, the author is not lying when he says some of this info will make you want to slap somebody for no reason. There is actually way way more in this |
book that wasn't even mentioned in this review full of detailed stories, examples, and references about true happenings that actually happened and were not made up, or thrown to the side so people would look over it and ignore it. But again, that's what we all do to truth when it's right under our nose. No preaching, but all in-depth observation and teaching.
I'd give it more stars if I could, but it only allows five.
Superb publication period...
