Why bother with a dull deck of plain cards when there's Heritage Playing Cards?

Not only is this deck perfect for any game you can think of, it's also an amazing conversation starter and an incredible educational tool! Featuring 54 hand-painted images of indigenous people from every corner of the globe, this deck is like a world tour in a box!

In any given hand, you might find an egyptian pharoah sharing the company of a Chinese merchant, a Pawnee chieftain, a Mayan priest and an Indian folk dancer! The enclosed booklet offers details, a history of how playing cards came to be, and a selection of traditional card games from around the world! With Heritage Cards, you've found tremendous value in a tiny box!

Each card is adorned on one side with an image of an indigenous person, from one of four regions on the globe: Africa (Diamonds), East Asia (Spades), South Asia (Clubs), and the Americas (Hearts) Most of the images are based on 19th century portraits of traditional costumes from around the world. The back of the cards is an original composition of symbols and written characters from several of the cultures represented throughout the deck.

54 UNIQUE DESIGNS: Unlike most other decks, which only employ artwork on the face cards (King, Queen, and Jack), Heritage Playing Cards have original artwork on all 54 cards. The card back is an original composition reflecting many cultures.

MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION: The cards are an excellent resource for multicultural education or diversity awareness, and can also be used to teach children anything from number concepts to world geography.

DIVERSITY AND EQUITY: In addition to representing the world's ethnic diversity, the deck is also balanced along socioeconomic and gender lines. Efforts were made to associate Aristotle's "feminine" numbers with images of women wherever possible, as well as to include people representing the working class, merchants, military, artisans, entertainers, as well as the upper class or royalty.

EDUCATIONAL BOOKLET: Inside the tuck box, a small educational booklet provides details on the playing cards, the history of playing cards themselves, and several games from around the world. Some are closely related to familiar Western games like Bridge and Blackjack, while others are entirely unique.

ONLINE BONUSES: The booklet also provides online access to a printable ebook of playing instructions and rules for all of the games listed (and many others).
